Callouts 2018

Dunkery Beacon, Somerset

Immediately from Marsh on the Devon border the Team were called to two stranded motorists on the side of Dunkery Beacon, who had been there since 22.30.  They were cold and lacking in resources as well as having medical issues.  In appalling weather conditions, the team were joined by DFRS Porlock, who arranged for a tractor driven by Mr Tucker to dig through the snowdrifts, whilst two Exmoor team members walked to the vehicle.  The motorists were then evacuated by Fire Service all terrain vehicle.

Our thanks to HM Coastguard helicopter from Newquay who were willing to turn out in the dreadful conditions, but fortunately they could be turned back when the tractor had secured access, and of course to Mr Tucker
