Seven Team members were deployed in a regional response to a request for assistance in dealing with a likely flooding event in York. Two team 4x4 vehicles and the team boat were used in taskings including welfare checks and delivering medication.
The team members returned home in the early hours of the 30th after having been delayed by the urgent need to evacuate some residents of Tadcaster when the town bridge collapsed causing a gas leak.
The Avon and Somerset Police requested the Team's help in recovering the body of a deceased man from a steep wooded cliff.
The technical operation, and the accompanying briefing and carry out took several hours.
Devon and Cornwall Police alerted the team to a crashed car on the A39 in North Devon. There was concern for the occupants who were unaccounted for. As ESRT were committed to the search in Taunton, ESRT asked North Dartmoor Search and Rescue team to assist but ultimately were not deployed.
A car had been abandoned in the Obridge area of Taunton, Exmoor Search and Rescue joined Police teams in a search of the local area and watercourses. Over the period of the search further information was received and teams spread further afield.
The missing person was located by ESRT in Bridgwater at around 2.00am
The Ambulance service contacted the Team in relation to 72 year old male who had injured his leg in an unknown location south of Simonsbath. Due to weather conditions the Air Ambulance was unable to access the area.
Exmoor Search and Rescue Team made arrangements to locate and evacuate the casualty, however he was located and taken to Barnstaple Hospital by an RAF Sea King from Chivenor.
The Team were alerted to a missing 91 year old lady in Bampton. She was located before a search began.
The Team were called out by Devon and Cornwall Police to assist in the search for a male missing in the Hartland area of Devon. Along with colleagues from the Coastguard, Police and DRG Okehampton, farmland areas were searched and the male was located safely shortly after lunchtime.
The Team were requested by Devon & Cornwall Police to assist in the search for a 65 year old man whom they were concerned for his welfare. The Team searched several open areas, streams and key areas within Honiton until early morning. The team were stood down whilst the Police made further inquiries upon which time he returned safe and well.
The Avon and Somerset Police requested the Team's help in the search for a missing 56 year old man. The Team searched wooded areas and water courses until lunchtime when the missing person was located safe and well outside of the search area
The Team were alerted to a 82 year old male with serious dementia missing since 15.15hrs, on the outskirts of Taunton. The gentleman was found in a ditch by the Police Helicopter.
A group of 6 Duke of Edinburgh participants were overdue by several hours at Cloud Farm on the Devon Somerset border. The teenagers arrived at Cloud Farm whilst the search for them was being organised.
An man had fallen and hurt his leg on Dunkery Beacon, the Team were called to assist the Ambulance Service.
The Avon and Somerset Police requested help in the search for an elderly gentleman in Taunton, who was to believed to be suffering from Dementia. He had been missing for 5 hours. The man was located before the search commenced.
The Devon and Cornwall Police requested help from the Team and Dartmoor Rescue Group (Okehampton) in the search for a missing 14yr old female near Uffculme. The missing person was located safe and well before the Team were mobilised.
The Devon and Cornwall Police requested help from the Team in the search for missing male in the Sticklepath area of Barnstaple. The Team along with HM Coastguard were being briefed when the man was located safe and well.
Exmoor Search and Rescue Team were asked to join colleagues from Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton and Okehampton in the search for a vulnerable male. The missing person was found safe and well.
The team were tasked to assist in the Search for a 36 year old male. The search was suspended at lunchtime whilst Police made further enquiries.
In a continuation of yesterday's search ERST were complemented by members of North Dartmoor SRT and Dartmoor SRT (Tavistock), and searched further areas. The teams were joined by the Fire Service, HM Coastguard, and the RNLI.
At around 12.40 further information was received and the lady was located on the Old Barnstaple Road some distance from her home safe and well.
The Devon and Cornwall Constabulary requested the Team’s assistance in the search for a 66 year old female. The lady had been missing from before 6.00am and possibly most of the night. In torrential rain ESRT were joined by the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service and searched many areas until dusk.
North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team took over the search at 18.00hrs and continued searching into the night. The search was suspended at midnight.
The Exmoor Search and Rescue Team were joined by North Dartmoor Search & Rescue Team and the Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service in a search of the River Exe in Tiverton.
During the afternoon a lady reported seeing a person jumping into the River, nothing was found during the search and no persons were reported as missing. The team stood down at 22.30hrs.
